Tulip Flower Guide: What They Mean and When to Gift Them

Have you ever wondered what tulip flowers actually mean? But before we explore their symbolism, let’s discover how tulips are grown, the best time to plant their bulbs, and how they bloom into a colourful display of fresh flowers. If you’re planning to gift tulips, choosing the right colour is just as important, as each shade carries its own special meaning. And when these beautiful blooms cross borders, Dubai brings together a stunning selection of fresh tulips and flowers, making it easier to handpick the perfect arrangement to express your true feelings.

What do Tulip Flowers mean?

To bloom in spring, the season of new beginnings itself, Tulips embody everything the season
holds. They carry the meaning of rebirth and new beginnings, and maybe that is why they
chose spring. This flower has its own way of symbolizing every beginning and every journey,
and this makes us value tulips even more.
And if deep, unconditional love had a face, it would again be that of a tulip. It is a definition
of love that is soft, intentional, expressive, and beautiful, but never fragile.

How does a Tulip Flower’s meaning change with its colour?

Each colour carries a different meaning, and together, they can represent our different
personalities.

 White Tulips sit with purity: White Tulips are absolutely on point when you need to
seek forgiveness. In fact, White Tulips are often offered in religious settings, as they
represent respect, honour, and purity.

 Yellow Tulips move with hope: And to bring that warmth of cheerfulness and hope,
Yellow Tulips are always first on the list. Their aura reflects the charm that is hard to
miss.

 Orange Tulips to fuel the excitement: Orange Tulips have a fiery meaning, unlike how
cool they can look. They are about celebrating that feeling of joy, curiosity, enthusiasm,
and encouragement.

 Red Tulips to love: Red Tulips are deliberate about the passionate love they are meant to
convey – a conscious choice to express commitment.

 Pink Tulips to care: Pink Tulips signify care, softness, and acknowledgement – making
space for a softer kind of affection.

 Purple Tulips to show admiration: Purple Tulips are a sign of royalty and an intentional
reminder of how fabulous one can be.

 Blue Tulips to bring harmony: And for a balance of passion and peace, love and care,
encouragement and comfort, there is no better choice than Blue Tulips. They are a
reflection of the serenity one seeks.

How are Tulip Flowers grown?

It all starts with that cute little bulb which endures the harsh and cold conditions. Yes, when
the temperature starts to drop and soil, which is loose and well-draining, cools below 15° C
(59° F), mainly from September to November, the Tulip bulbs, with the pointy side facing
straight up, are planted in dug holes which are about three times the height of the bulbs, with good access to sunlight. They grow through the cold winters and bloom in the spring.

How did Tulip Flowers become special in Dubai?

Even though they initially emerged in Central Asia, Tulip Flowers found their deserving love
mainly through places like the Netherlands. And now, with the large-scale import of these
flowers, Dubai has become an important commercial space for Tulips. Tulip Flowers have
their own place in celebrations across Dubai. Even florists in Dubai help make this love for
Tulips more intentional, beautiful and accessible
